It will be in downtown Prescott around the beautiful Courthouse Plaza. We expect to have over 300 beautiful corvettes on display. Make your vacation plans and reserve rooms now. \nMany activities are planned in addition to Saturday’s Corvette Car show: Early check-in Thursday evening and Friday will again be at the Hassayampa Inn – our Host Hotel of the car show. \nThe very popular Bucky’s Casino PVS Poker Run will be held Friday morning.  This year we expect to register perhaps 100+ drivers and of course that means a larger prize for the winner and the loser. \nOn Friday Evening\, a “Meet & Greet” sponsored by The US Vets Prescott. \nThe corner of Montezuma and Goodwin Street with entertainment by the “Whiskey Pistols” from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. \nSaturday Evening please join us for the 2nd Annual Bar-B-Q Dinner with the Whiskey Pistols again providing the entertainment. DESCRIPTION:16th ANNUAL PRESCOTT ALL-CORVETTE SHOW\nSEPT 22nd-24th\, 2022\n \nREGISTRATION FORM: \n \nJUST ADDED!\nJAN ROYALL HAS BLOCKED ROOMS AT THE HAMPTON INN IN PRESCOTT.  CONTACT HER ABOUT HOW TO MAKE RESERVATIONS.\nLONNIE AND GLORIA ARE ONCE AGAIN HOSTING A GET-TOGETHER \n  \nPrescott Vette Sette Car Show Newsletter  May 2022\nThe registration form is available via prescottvettesette.com\, click on 2022 CORVETTE CAR SHOW\, then 2022 CAR SHOW REGISTRATION.  Or use: prescottvettesette.com/public/files/PDF/0001.pdf (for you copy & paste types).\nAs of May\, 150 cars are registered.  Registration is limited to 300 cars.\nAt present\, the CAR SHOW EVENT SCHEDULE includes:\nEarly check-in at the Hassayampa Inn lobby Thursday afternoon & evening\, and again Friday afternoon and evening.  Saturday check-in at Courthouse Plaza – Cortez and Goodwin streets.\nLast year 87 cars checked-in Thursday resulting in some parking issues.  This year on Thursday\, the Car Show reserved street parking on the block facing Hassayampa’s main entrance (Marina Street between Gurley and Willis).  Please note that the restaurant across the street (Red White & Brew) is now open for business\, their parking lot is for their customers.\nPeople that check-in Thursday can participate in Friday morning’s events.  Our very popular POKER RUN will again be Friday morning; exact time and location TBD.  For those who want a more-miles experience\, the Prescott region has three great options.  Each drive is limited to 10 cars on a first come sign-up basis during Thursday check-in.  The rides are:
1. Twisty-drive to Mingus Mountain with lunch in Jerome (60 miles).
2. Scenic drive west of town with lunch in Congress (150 miles).
3. Five-hour drive to Oak Creek Canyon\, Sedona (quick lunch @ McD) and back to Prescott through Jerome (160 miles).\nDetails and sign-up for the drives will be available in the Hassayampa lobby on Thursday.  These three drives will be led by Prescott Vette Sette members.\nFor those who sleep-in Friday morning and want to see more of the near-by area\, maps will be available for several hour long (give or take) self-led drives closer to town.  One of these goes through Skull Valley – sounds nifty\, and of course it’s scenic.\nPrescott Vette Sette Car Show Newsletter – page 2\nNO PROMISES\, but rest assured there are people trying to put together a Friday Evening Party with food and a great band.  Keep reading subsequent newsletters.  The party is ‘Plan B’\, ‘Plan A’ involves enjoying our great downtown bars (on or off Whisky Row)\, restaurants\, and stores.\nOn Saturday\, Car Show parking begins at 6:00am\, no matter how early you get up – honestly\, some of you people…  Opening ceremony at 10:00am followed by judging.  Closing ceremony from 2:00 to 3:00.\nCar Show Tweaks: Years ago when we were lining-up to buy new C4s or C5s\, Corvette related businesses printed (paper) catalogues.  Years later they switched to CD-ROM\, now it’s all online.  Say goodbye to goodie bags.\nIn recent years\, street-vendors worked hard to be a part of our shows\, but there was very little business traffic.  So… Goodwin Street (between Montezuma and Cortez) will be filled with Corvettes (except for one or two sponsors).  This is why & how our registration increased to 300 cars.\nMoney – Money – Money: The car show is the Prescott Vette Sette Charitable Foundation’s only fundraiser for charitable giving.  We do not sell food or other merchandise (other than surplus shirts and a 50/50 raffle).  Our recipients in the last few years have been USVets (an organization that restores homeless vets to independent living) and the local vocational college’s automobile repair & servicing program.  Both organizations serve important purposes that all of us appreciate.  Our costs have increased\, and we decided to bump-up the car show shirt a level (to collar polo/golf shirt).  Prescott Vette Sette is grateful to the people who register for the show and allow us to give back to our community – thank you!\n\nLook for a description of our Judging policy in the June newsletter.  We’ll have it ironed out by then.\n\nMore info??? We hope each and every one of you and your loved ones have stayed safe and healthy. So now let’s celebrate and let the Corvettes Play Begin!!! \nALL of our Corvette Clubs have largely gone into “Pause” mode\, but I ask that you share the information within and attached to this email with your fellow members as you/we swing back into “ \nNormal Corvette Life”. \nWe have been working away on how to make the 2021 Show our biggest and best ever…… so….. how are we going to do that\, you ask!!?? \n1st of all\, we are going to retain and improve upon the basic ingredients that proved popular and successful in past years: \n·        ~275 of the nicest Corvettes in the West will once again adorn our Prescott Downtown\, Courthouse Square and Whisky Row on Saturday Sept 25th \n·         For “Early Birds arriving Thursday\, we will host a Social Dinner at the Hassayampa Hotel and Bar for local members and visiting attendees to meet and maybe solve some “World Problems” \n·        On Friday we will have optional opportunities to partake in a Breakfast\, morning Poker Run\, and potentially an early afternoon tour of a Private “Museum” that is straight out of the script of American Pickers and of course an opportunity to join in our popular early evening “Pub Crawl” around Whisky Row (Prizes of course). Or\, if just kicking around is more to your liking\, a diverse collection of curio\, art and antique stores in the Downtown Area offer alternative options to kick back and just enjoy the charms of Prescott “Your Way”. \n·        For us and our registrants\, Saturday is totally about the PVS Car Show! (Did I mention fun and prizes?!) Someone didn’t get enough of the shopping or eating!!??…. that is all right there for you. And\, for variety\,  spectators can also visit our “Sister” Car Show sponsored by the Dewey Classic Cruisers Club in at Sally B’s in Prescott Valley.  That short drive will offer a little something for every car enthusiast that wants to have a “two for one” day of it\, especially spectators that want a break from the Downtown Show. \n·        Saturday Evening we plan on offering an informal Dining opportunity at the Hassayampa Hotel and Bar to debrief the show and gather feedback from those that are staying overnight. \n·        We usually enjoy fantastic weather that weekend vs. the Heat of the Phoenix Valley. Naturally the Prescott area includes nearby Jerome (an abandoned mining town ~20 miles out of town)\, Sedona with its magnificent Red Rocks\, picturesque views and loads of visitor attractions and accommodations and\, oh yeh\, you can’t ignore Flagstaff with its unique small-town charm\, Indian ruins and of course the Grand Canyon… plenty to justify your own September Road Trip to our 5\,500 ft. high slice of Heaven. \nWe have a goal to make our Show Weekend one of the “Top Three” annual Prescott Events to attract visiting patrons for Prescott Businesses and reward them and the City for their gracious support. We also carve out monies from our proceeds for vital donations via our PVS Charitable Foundation to select local Charity Organizations. \nNew this year……. we will be offering you an Android/Apple “Prescott Corvette Show App” (downloadable from our website) for those that attend the weekend. It will have maps and guides to Local attractions and merchants\, as well as many discounts and offers to reward entrants and entice visitors for the Weekend Festivities….. making it even easier to discover your many options and more of a “win-win” attraction for everyone. As we move closer to the Show date\, we plan to add features and rewards for your attendance to our Show Events. \nFinally\, but most important….
