SUMMARY:RFC GOLF TOURNAMENT CAR CORRAL
DESCRIPTION:WEDNESDAY\, NOVEMBER 8\, 2023\nTIME CHANGE! NOW 8:30AM-4:00PM\nRFC IS ASKING POMONA VALLEY CORVETTE ASSN. FOR UP TO THIRTY (30) CORVETTES FOR A CORRAL FOR THE GOLFERS TO VIEW ON THEIR WAY IN AND OUT.  THE CORRAL COINCIDES WITH THE NHRA WORLD FINALS.  MANY RACE VENDORS WILL BE IN THE LOT ALSO. \n\nMOUNTAIN MEADOWS GOLF COURSE PARKING LOT\n1875 FAIRPLEX DR\nPOMONA\, CA 91768\n\nTACO BAR BREAKFAST\nIN-N-OUT LUNCH\n  \nTeam RFC reached out to us and requested we bring cars to their annual golf tournament as “eye candy” for the golfers. The tournament is at Mountain Medows Golf course on November 8\, the day before the NHRA Finals start at the In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip. The event will be attended by many of the NHRA teams\, drivers\, and vendors. If you are a drag racing fan this is a great opportunity to meet celebrities and vendors from the sport. \n\nRFC has offered PVCA a foursome (4 tickets) to the tournament as thanks. We will discuss at our September meeting\, the best way to distribute the tickets. \n\nThe event still begins at 9:30AM in the Mountain Medows parking lot. However\, the organizers expect golfers to start arriving as early as 8:30. Please try to arrive between 8:00-8:30. We will have an area blocked off for our PVCA and guest’s cars. The taco bar (complimentary if you bring a car) will be open from 9:30-11:30AM. The tournament begins at 12:00 noon. After the tournament ends there will be a raffle and golf awards with In-N-Out burgers provided. \n\nThe area our cars are parked will be secured and watched\, so you will be able to leave your car and come back later to pick it up. I am looking into a walk or shuttle down the street to the NHRA museum during the golf tournament for anyone interested. Admission to the NHRA museum is not part of the RFC event and will cost $10. \n\nIf you want to return after the tournament\, In-N-Out will be serving burgers and fries from one of their mobile trucks. \n\nRFC has asked for 30 cars which is a large number\, especially for a Wednesday. The organizers realize this and welcome non-Corvette classics\, customs\, or hot rods if we need to get more cars. Feel free to invite non-member friends if you know someone who may be interested.

SUMMARY:SCENIC DRIVE AND LUNCH TO OAK GLEN
DESCRIPTION:JOIN JEFF AND BEVERLY CHODOS AS THEY TAKE US ON A SCENIC DRIVE TO OAK GLEN\nTHURSDAY\, OCTOBER 3\, 2024\nMEETING AT 9:15 AM\n AT LOGAN’S ROADHOUSE \nTRAVELING TO LOS RIOS RANCHO\n39611 OAK GLEN ROAD #13\, \nOAK GLEN\, CA\n92399\n\n\nThursday\, October 3 is an excellent time to come.  Avoid the weekends due to high congestion.\nParking is on asphalt and can accommodate up to 80 cars. If we arrive around 11:00 a.m.\, parking should not be a problem for the club.\nFood can be purchased at the Orchard’s kitchen (IN/AT LOS RIOS RANCHO).  The menu can be reviewed online. Individuals can buy their meals at the window\, and seating is available as a group at the\n\npicnic tables. \n\nPicnic tables are on grass areas\, and tables and chairs are available outside the kitchen. Additional tables and chairs are inside the shopping area (tent) for snacks.\nIndoor restrooms\n\nThings to do:\n\nApple orchards open for apple picking.  Check-in at the counter for directions on where to go.  You will receive a paper bag for apples.  You can pick as many apples as you want.\n\nCome back\, weigh the apples\, and pay for apples at the counter. \n\nIndoor shopping (tent)\, shopping carts are available for serious shoppers 😊\nPetting Zoo\nHiking Trails\nOak Glen Preserve\n\nCruise Details:\n\nThe round-trip cruise is approximately 120 miles.\nWe plan on using two cruise routes.  One route is from Logan’s Roadhouse Restaurant to Oak Glen\, and the other is from Oak Glen home via the 10 Fwy.  The reason is to offer a complete view of the Oak Glen area.\n\n\nWritten directions will be provided on the day of the cruise\, and we have already identified places to pull over to allow for “car catch-up.”\nWe do not plan on making this a race. A few areas are a little bumpy\, but that should not be a problem for Corvettes.\nWe plan to arrive as a group and have lunch together.  We can cruise back as a group or return home on our own.\n\n\nBRING YOUR RADIOS

SUMMARY:Replacement Run to San Diego
DESCRIPTION:Replacement San Diego Run\nWEATHER UPDATE — As of 10:AM on Monday 3/17\, the forecast for Tuesday 3/18 is good. Sunny with a high of 51 at the higher elevations. There is a 50% chance of light rain tonight\, dropping to 0% by Tuesday morning.  I pre-ran the route on Saturday morning after the rain on Friday. The roads were OK with minimal water remaining and some light sand/dirt on the road in places. There was some snow accumulation at higher altitudes\, but none on the road. I have a few loaners for anyone who doesn’t have one. \nWe will take backroads to lunch in south San Diego County. There is some beautiful scenery on the way.
