SUMMARY:Cambria Weekend
DESCRIPTION:The Cambria Weekend is all set.  We will leave Friday\, November 9th from the Lowes parking lot near the Arrow Hwy offramp from the 57 freeway in San Dimas.  There is a McDonalds right there for coffee\, breakfast\, or other necessities.  Driver’s meeting at 9:15 and on the road by 9:30. We will make our traditional stop at the McDonalds in Fillmore and then onto Ventura Harbor for a long\, leisurely lunch.  There are several restaurants to choose from for your dining pleasure.  Then back on the road to Cambria.  I have made arrangements at the Fireside Inn on Moonstone Beach (this is where most of us stayed last time).  The rates are as follows; \nTraditional Room              $185 per night\nRoom with patio                $205 per night\nRoom with a partial view   $225 per night\nRoom with ocean view       $285 per night \nThey can be reached at (805) 927-8661.  Just tell them that you are with Pomona Valley Corvettes to get these rates.  Should you have any issues\, the manager’s name is Karen. They will hold the block of rooms until October 10th\, after that you will pay the normal rates and no guarantees that rooms will be available.  You can cancel your reservation up to 14 days prior (October 25th).  There are several other hotels available on Moonstone Beach and you can make other arrangements if you so desire.  Friday dinner is on your own.  There are two really good restaurants right on Moonstone Beach and several more in town.  We will do our winery tours on Saturday and then we will have a group dinner at McPhee’s Grill in Templeton.  We have gone to McPhees the past two Cambria Runs.  Highway 1 is supposed to re-open sometime this summer\, so I am planning a Sunday run to Big Sur with lunch at the Nepenthe restaurant.  This restaurant is perched on a cliff overlooking the Pacific Ocean and their food is outstanding.  Everyone is on their own for getting home.  The rooms and rates are good for Friday thru Sunday with check out on Monday\, but please feel free to take off on Sunday if you need to be home for Veterans Day.  As David firms up the activities\, we will post separate event pages to the website so that we can get head counts.  There are plenty of other exciting ways to spend your weekend so if you want to go off on your own have at it.
