Because hunger doesn?t take the weekend off?
The Inland Empire United Way?s Kids Pack program is feeding children safely,
nutritiously, and respectfully. Each week, homeless and very low-income
school children receive backpacks filled with nutritious foods to ensure the
child has enough to eat during weekends when subsidized school meals are not
available. Kids Pack is made possible through partnerships with local
schools, businesses, community organizations, and volunteers. Through Kids
Pack, we are working to ensure that food-insecure and hungry children are
better able to participate in school and life.

Who wants to where his sister's pink plastic jelly shoes?
The mission of Shoes That Fit is self-esteem of school childern
in need by providing with new shoes and clothing.
At Shoes That Fit, we
provide new shoes and/or clothes to children in need so that they can attend
school in comfort and with dignity. We do this by matching a sponsoring group?a
business, school, church, civic organization or even a group of friends?with
schools near them that have children in need.
The sponsor determines how
many children they can help and the school identifies and measures students with
materials we provide. The sponsor purchases the exact items those children
require and delivers the items to the school. Every penny spent goes directly to
the child.
