Bob and Dianas Mystery Run II

Pictures

On August 28th, 2004 28 members of PVCA eagerly gathered at the park and ride at the 57 freeway and Via Verde for Bob and Diana Davis second mystery dinner run. Bob and Diana provided soft drinks and water, an appreciated gesture. At the drivers meeting, Bob emphasized that the most important caravan rule was to adhere to Glendas rule to keep the colors separated.  Everyone was given a mileage guesstimate sheet, the winner to receive a dessert.

We traveled by freeways until arriving at the Jamboree off ramp and headed towards PCH.  By now some of us had a feeling that we were going to the beach somewhere.  We managed to stay together despite the week-end traffic, the radios were a great help!

Our secret destination was the Riverboat Restaurant in Newport Beach, where we had special, reserved VIP parking.  We were given window seats where we could enjoy the view of the bay as well as the marina.  While waiting for the dinners to be served, some members visited the nautical museum and gift shop. The food was good, the company great!  Kudos to Diana Butcher on her maiden solo run, Dan was on duty.  Randy and Glenda won the dessert certificate by guessing the closest mileage.  Congrats.

After dinner, the girls had a jewelry fest thanks to Maryann Tretter.  Ask to see their Corvette bracelets.  Then it was time for our group picture.  And yes, due to modern technology everyone is in the photograph.

You know what was going to happen next.  ICE CREAM!  Yes, a few of us went to Cold Stone in Huntington Beach.  Everyone reminisced about earlier beach days, we learned that someone was a Balboa gal and someone was a Huntington Beach surfer girl watcher.  We all had a super time!

Thanks Bob and Diana, we are looking forward to the next mystery run.

A good time was had by all...
