Big Bear Bash

Friday morning started out with the Car Show.  Ernie, Jerry, and Steve all showed their cars.  There were about 30 cars in the show.  Steve took 3^rd place in his class.  Later on in the afternoon everyone was back at the Grey Squirrel for free flowing beer and a BBQ.  The volleyball team took to the court against Corvettes West.  Our team consisted of Shelley, Randy D., Randy G., Brent, Brian, Scott, Doug, Joanna, and Derek (Joanna�s boyfriend).  Despite the great cheerleading from the other PVCA members, they unfortunately were defeated two games straight.  Only two injuries were sustained, Doug with a twisted knee and Randy D. with a scraped up knee.  Good solid effort on everyone�s part.  Later on in the evening there was a Karaoke contest.  Some one signed up Randy D. to sing.  The rules were that men had to sing a female song, women had to sing a male song and the songs were pre-determined.  With the help of the PVCA back up singers, Randy D. had to sing �Angel Baby.�  They didn�t win but it was very close.  The whole evening would have been a good episode for American Idol.  Everyone had a great time Friday evening, some more than others.  Saturday morning had some wishing they hadn�t had such a good time.

Saturday morning was the Autocross.  The only two PVCA participants were Randy D. and Steve.  They both had good runs.  Neither one had a DNF.  Quite a few members came out to watch, show support, and cheer them on.  Later on that afternoon was the drive around the lake.  There were 250 or more cars that participated.  The drive around the lake ended at the Big Bear Convention Center where the dinner and raffle were held Saturday night.  The theme this year was a celebrity theme.  The only people that dressed up were Shelley (Marilyn Monroe), and Steve and Linda (Scarlet O�Hara & Rhett Butler).  Except Steve was Scarlet and Linda was Rhett.  They won best costume for couples.  Everyone had a good time at the dinner.  Some of our members walked away with some raffle prizes too.

Sunday morning was the Gimmick/Poker Rallye.  The PVCA participants were Randy & Shelley, Randy & Glenda, Duane & Joanna, Scott & Nancy, Brent & Marilynn, Doug & Roxanne, Steve & Linda, Bob & Karen, and Brian & Bonnie.  Everyone had a great time.  When all was said and done the following PVCA members placed in the Gimmick Rallye: 7^th went to Duane & Joanna; 6^th went to Karen & Bob; 4^th went to Randy & Glenda; and 1^st place went to Doug & Roxanne.  Doug & Roxanne also took 3^rd in the Poker Rallye.  Congratulations to everyone who won!!!
